Wayland Spring Methodist Camp
Friday, September 10, 2010
Wayland Spring Camp received ice storm damage much like the rest of the Northeast District. Soon after the storm, the Camp was cleared of hanging limbs in the areas used by Campers. Although the volume of limbs that fell during the storm together with the limbs that were trimmed is awesome, we are thankful that most of the beautiful trees are still intact and healthy. The wooded area surrounding the camp will be recovering for years to come. The process of disposing of the limbs continues. A lot of work has been done to clear the areas used by the Campers to make it safe for the summer camping season. If you or your group would like to spend some time helping finish the cleanup, please contact Phyllis Roark at phylroark@centurylink.net. Also, watch our webpage for announced work days.

Large amounts of limbs have been collected into burn piles. The outdoor Chapel was undamaged. Limbs were plentiful.
Many thanks to those who worked to cut and stack limbs. The Gazebo area had many large limbs to remove.
Hanging limbs have been removed over the cabins and the rest of the high traffic areas. Like God's Love, even through the storms, the waters of the spring continues to flow with peace and consistency.
